Packing: What to do (and what to avoid)

Our packing do's and don't to make sure your move goes as smoothly as possible.

Use sturdy boxes and make sure the lid closes fully	Overfill boxes — if the lid won't close, it won't stack and it's more likely to break
Pack items into proper boxes or containers which can be stacked	Rely on soft, unstructured bags, creates or baskets. They're hard to stack and easy to crush.
Cover fragile times including art in bubble wrap.	Leave anything fragile loose, outside a box or bag
Store packed boxes in the garage — it's usually out of the way and works well as a loading zone	Block hallways and thoroughfares with packed boxes — we need access to every room throughout the day
Clearly label what you're taking yourself vs. what we're moving	Wait until pickup day to sort valuables.
